Mary Kathleen “MK” Smith ’19 CLAS

Mary Kathleen “MK” Smith ’19 CLAS delivered the undergraduate student address at Commencement. As an Arab and Islamic Studies and Political Science major, she studied abroad in Qatar, Jordan and London, immersing herself in the study of the Arabic language and Middle East politics.

Two days after graduating, Smith moved to Washington, D.C., where she is now the director of communication for the Arab Studies Institute.
