We want to make your entry into law school as smooth as possible when you come to campus. Be sure to read through our incoming student checklist before your Villanova Law journey begins.

We can’t wait to welcome the Class of 2025 to Villanova Law! Please use the below areas as a guide to help plan ahead of your first days as a law student. Many of the items can be completed in advance; some are required, while others are encouraged.

Keep checking back as updates are made.

  • Be sure to reserve your seat to secure your place in the Class of 2025.
  • Upload a final, official undergraduate transcript to the Law School Admission Council (LSAC) by Orientation. You are required to submit this final official transcript denoting a degree conferral date by September 1 to be in compliance with the ABA Standard 502. The ABA has stated that our law school require students to provide a final official transcript or the law school will be required to administratively withdraw students.
  • Check your schedule via Novasis in late July. You will be assigned a section by the Registrar. Please note, your schedule is subject to change until Orientation.
  • Students can purchase books in advance through the Villanova Bookstore and have them shipped. Be sure the books are returnable, in the event your schedule changes.
  • Class schedules, first day assignments, and textbook lists for your classes will become available in late July and continue to be updated.
  • Familiarize yourself with the many resources available at the Villanova Law Library
  • Review the New Student Guide created by our Villanova Law Library Faculty: What to Know Before You Go...And When You Get Here.

  • Upload a photo for your Villanova Student ID card (Wildcard). If you complete this process by early August, you will receive your Wildcard during Orientation. Otherwise, you will need to visit the Wildcard Office in Dougherty Hall to obtain your Wildcard.
  • Sign up for Nova Alert. Nova Alert delivers important emergency alerts, notifications and updates to any mobile device or email you choose to register. Students may also add devices for parents or family members wishing to receive Nova Alerts.
  • Check your Villanova email regularly. Important information about financial aid and summer deadlines are sent to your Villanova email over the summer. Emails become available once full deposit is paid. REQUIRED
  • Check your access to MyNova, where you can view your financial aid status, registration and courses (Blackboard).
  • Students are not required to have a laptop, but many choose to do so. Information on connectivity can be viewed by consulting Technology Services.

  • Villanova Law works diligently to meet the needs of students with disabilities, and grants reasonable accommodations provided that the requested accommodations do not fundamentally alter the nature of the academic program or compromise an essential part of the academic program.
