Account Information, Password Reset and More!

It is the policy of Villanova University that all faculty, staff and students will be issued a User ID that is to be protected by a password which enables them to complete the academic and business needs of the University. (There are occasions when an employee may need additional User IDs.) Where appropriate and upon need there may be User ID’s created for non-university employees. It is the responsibility of the user to create a strong password and to safeguard its confidentiality. At no time should the user grant access to his/her account by providing someone else the password. Passwords for new employee and student User IDs are randomly generated. Creation of new accounts is run daily and is communicated to the individual user via postal mail explaining the use of the User ID, password, and homepage URL.

Blackboard Learn 9 has Arrived!

Blackboard Learn has been selected as the Learning Management System (LMS) to replace the WebCT Vista system. IT currently has test, staging, and production systems in place. Over the course of the next few months IT is committed to integrating the new LMS with other Villanova systems, testing, branding, training and migrating faculty content.

Office of the Wildcard

UNIT's University Card Systems provide the Villanova Community with the "Wildcard" allowing convenient, effective, and secure access to all card related services. These services include personal identification, facilities access and access monitoring, debit transactions processing, meal plan administration, banking relationship management, student printing allowance and web-based transaction processing. The Wildcard is universally accepted on campus and at selected off-campus locations.

Laptop Program

As part of their curriculum, all incoming Freshman students are leased a state-of the art laptop computer. Villanova University supplies this laptop on a two year lease refresh cycle. During the spring at the end of the sophomore year, this computer must be returned. After the laptop is returned, the student can order their second laptop.

Villanova Utilizes Two Systems for Campus Email

Undergraduate students and alumni will have Google Apps accounts created for them, and will have access to Villanova Gmail. Faculty, Staff and Graduate students will have their mail hosted on Villanova's Exchange server in order to comply with certain laws and regulations. No matter which system you use, you will access your Villanova Email the same way. You can login to myNova and click on the Email link at the top right.

Connecting Wirelessly

Villanova's wireless network SSID is "VUMobile". To connect, simply click on VUMobile on your computers list of available wireless networks and enter in your Villanova user name and password. This will work for any computer running Windows Vista or higher and Mac OS X 10.5 or higher.
