About ODK

Omicron Delta Kappa is the National Leadership Honor Society.  It was founded on December 3, 1914, at Washington and Lee University.  Since its founding, the society has grown to over 300,000 members at over 300 campuses nationwide; it has also achieved international recognition.  Villanova University’s Circle was founded on September 25, 1988. 

ODK places great emphasis on developing a strong personal character and becoming an “all-around” leader.  Specifically, the society focuses on attaining active leadership roles in five main areas of campus life:

  1. Scholarship
  2. Athletics
  3. Campus and Community Service, Social and Religious Activities, and Campus Government
  4. Journalism, Speech, and the Mass Media
  5. Creative and Performing Arts 

Membership in ODK is awarded to undergraduate junior and senior undergraduate students.  In addition, membership can be offered to graduate students, faculty, staff, administration, and alumni.

How can I join Omicron Delta Kappa?
Interested candidates must have a strong record of leadership across multiple areas of campus life, school and community involvement, and quality of character. In addition, student nominees must have junior or senior status with a minimum grade point average of 3.5.  For more, click here.
