2014 Transcript Dates & Act 48 Posting Dates

Transcripts:   Students will receive one official, sealded, UArts transcript automatically as a complementary service.   This will be mailed directly to the home address on file.  Automatic transcripts will be processed on the scheduled dates as liste below.  Time is allocated after each course ends to allow for completion of post-coursework and grading.

  • Session 1 & 2; ending 7/3 & 7/11:  Transciprts mailed 7/31
  • Session 3; ending 7/18Transcripts mailed 8/1
  • Session 4; ending 7/25:  Transcripts mailed on 9/4
  • Session 5; ending 8/1:  Transcripts mailed on 9/11
  • Orff Certification; ending 8/1:  Transcripts mailed on 9/11

All mailed transcripts are cumulative.   If you attend multiple courses in one summer, multiple transcripts will be mailed.   The final one will contain all courses.

Students seaking additional transcripts or expedited transcripts (if possilbe) must make requests in writing with any required fees to the University of the Arts Registrar's Office, 215-717-6420, following the procedures posted at:

PA Act 48 (for Pennsylvania‐certified teachers who have provided their PA Act 48 Professional Personal ID number) will be posted on August 31 following the receipt of course grades. 

Courses are posted as graduate credits (i.e. 3 grad credits= 90 Act 48 hour equivalency).  Direct any Act 48 questions to the Professional Institute for Educators at UArts via email:


Attendance Policy
All students are expected to attend all class sessions regularly and promptly, and for the duration of the scheduled instructional time.  Our courses are intensive and every hour in the classroom is critical.  Our policy is that full letter grade will be deducted for each half day missed (or accumulated latenesses equivalent to a half-day), regardless of the individual circumstance.

Refund Policy
All refunds are less nonrefundable deposits and fees and calculated as follows:

100% refund less the $100 nonrefundable course deposit for withdrawal up to 14 days prior to the first class.

0% refund for withdrawal within fewer than fourteen days.

All withdrawals must be submitted in writing via fax (610-519-7596), email (, or letter.

Course Cancellation Policy
Villanova University reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.  If a cancellation should occur, students will be notified at least seven days in advance and have the option taking another course or receiving a full refund (including the full deposit). 

Academic Information - University of the Arts

The University of the Arts is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  The Office of Music Activities at Villanova University offers these non-matriculated graduate-level courses through the Professional Institute for Educators at the University of the Arts.  In many cases, these credits may be used towards Masters Equivalency programs and may be considered for transfer into some degree programs, depending upon specific curriculum requirements.
