Housing & Meals

Accommodations are available at Villanova University in the West Campus Apartments located adjacent to St. Mary's Hall. Each apartment has two bedrooms that sleep a total of four people.  Double Rates ($59/night) are charged per night per person for a shared bedroom.   You may guarantee a single bedroom within an apartment by paying the single rate ($86/night).  Apartments are air-conditioned and include a shared kitchen, living room and 1.5 baths.  Housing reservations should be made at the same time that you register.  If you are registering by mail or fax, please use the Housing Request Form found in the brochure.

Bedrooms are furnished with beds, linens, towels, a desk, and chairs. Please bring a lamp, blanket, clock, and all personal items.  Note that no pets are permitted in our residence halls.

Housing is not available at our off-campus sites. 

Housing check-in 

  • Sunday arrivals:  Housing check-in in 2014 will be held in Klekotka Hall, the first of the apartments behind St. Mary’s Hall on West Campus, on Sunday evenings from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.    
  • Monday arrivals:  You may pick up your key at sign-in.  If you plan to visit your room before your course begins, please arrive no later than 7:15 am.

Items to Bring:

  • Pots and pans if you wish to cook

All residents will be issued a card which will allow access to our dorm, Klekotka Hall, as well as Villanova’s library and on-campus fitness center. As an alternative to on-site housing, check our information on local hotels near Villanova, PA.


A reasonably priced a la carte menu is available from the Villanova Dining Services in St. Mary's Hall where courses are held.  All courses break for lunch for at least one half hour per day.   Ample dining opportunities exist locally and on campus.

Off-Campus Technology Course Sites

2014 Transcript Dates & Act 48 Posting Dates

Transcripts:   Students will receive one official, sealded, UArts transcript automatically as a complementary service.   This will be mailed directly to the home address on file.  Automatic transcripts will be processed on the scheduled dates as liste below.  Time is allocated after each course ends to allow for completion of post-coursework and grading.

  • Session 1 & 2; ending 7/3 & 7/11:  Transciprts mailed 7/31
  • Session 3; ending 7/18Transcripts mailed 8/1
  • Session 4; ending 7/25:  Transcripts mailed on 9/4
  • Session 5; ending 8/1:  Transcripts mailed on 9/11
  • Orff Certification; ending 8/1:  Transcripts mailed on 9/11

All mailed transcripts are cumulative.   If you attend multiple courses in one summer, multiple transcripts will be mailed.   The final one will contain all courses.

Students seaking additional transcripts or expedited transcripts (if possilbe) must make requests in writing with any required fees to the University of the Arts Registrar's Office, 215-717-6420, following the procedures posted at: 

PA Act 48 (for Pennsylvania‐certified teachers who have provided their PA Act 48 Professional Personal ID number) will be posted on August 31 following the receipt of course grades. 

Courses are posted as graduate credits (i.e. 3 grad credits= 90 Act 48 hour equivalency).  Direct any Act 48 questions to the Professional Institute for Educators at UArts via email: pie@uarts.edu.


Attendance Policy
All students are expected to attend all class sessions regularly and promptly, and for the duration of the scheduled instructional time.  Our courses are intensive and every hour in the classroom is critical.  Our policy is that full letter grade will be deducted for each half day missed (or accumulated latenesses equivalent to a half-day), regardless of the individual circumstance.

Refund Policy
All refunds are less nonrefundable deposits and fees and calculated as follows:

100% refund less the $100 nonrefundable course deposit for withdrawal up to 14 days prior to the first class.

0% refund for withdrawal within fewer than fourteen days.

All withdrawals must be submitted in writing via fax (610-519-7596), email (summermusic@villanova.edu), or letter.

Course Cancellation Policy
Villanova University reserves the right to cancel any course due to insufficient enrollment.  If a cancellation should occur, students will be notified at least seven days in advance and have the option taking another course or receiving a full refund (including the full deposit). 

Academic Information - University of the Arts

The University of the Arts is accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.  The Office of Music Activities at Villanova University offers these non-matriculated graduate-level courses through the Professional Institute for Educators at the University of the Arts.  In many cases, these credits may be used towards Masters Equivalency programs and may be considered for transfer into some degree programs, depending upon specific curriculum requirements.
