Transcript Information
Students enrolled receive one official, sealed, UArts transcript automatically as a complementary service. This is mailed directly to the home address on file. Automatic transcripts are processed on a specific schedule that will be posted as soon as it is available. Time is allocated for two weeks of student post‐course projects and grading following the last in‐person session.
- No exceptions are made to the scheduled complementary transcript process dates. All complementary transcripts must be mailed directly to the student’s home address ‐ no exceptions.
- Transcripts include all UArts coursework completed and graded at the time of transcription, including previous coursework. Students taking multiple courses which occur in more than one transcript process period (as noted above) will receive more than one transcript; the most recent will include the most complete list of cumulative coursework.
- The official transcript arrives in a sealed envelope with a signature verifying this credential. If you need to provide this to an employer or school district, you must keep this document in the original sealed envelope for the designated recipient to open.
- Students seeking additional transcripts or requests must make these requests in writing with any required fees to the University of the Arts Registrar’s Office, 215.717.6420, following the procedures posted online at: http://cs.uarts.edu/pie/villanova-summer-music-studies .
- PA Act 48 (for Pennsylvania‐certified teachers who have provided their PA Act 48 Professional Personal ID number) are posted to the PDE website on July 31 and August 31, following the receipt of course grades.
- Courses are posted as graduate credits (i.e. 3 grad credits= 90 Act 48 hour equivalency). Direct Act 48 questions to the Professional Institute for Educators at UArts via email: pie@uarts.edu.
For students not enrolled this year requiring transcripts, or for rush or extra transcripts: Persons who attended the Villanova Summer Music Program from 1993 to the present may request transcripts from the University of the Arts (UArts) in Philadelphia. Transcript requests carry a fee and must be submitted to the Office of the Registrar at UArts. Visit www.uarts.edu/academics/registrar.html to request a transcript online or download the request form. Call 215-717-6420 for further information.
Persons who attended the Villanova Summer Music Program during the summers of 1990, 1991 or 1992, may request credits from VanderCook College in Chicago.

Most courses are scheduled from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday (unless otherwise noted within course list & description). Orff Courses and any 1cr. courses have unique schedules, as do any courses that may be offered during the week in which July 4th falls.
Locations
Most classes are held in St. Mary's Hall located on the NW corner of County Line & Spring Mill Roads on the Villanova University Campus. (Using '300 N Spring Mill Rd, 19085' in your GPS device will get you to the proper vicinity.) In 2013 additional classes will be offered at Parkland High School, Allentown, PA and at M.S 180, Bronx, NY. Please view our directions to the off-campus sites. We do not offer housing or meal services at off-campus locations.

Credits/Auditing
Each course earns a designated number of graduate credits from our credit granting partner, The University of the Arts in Philadelphia, unless otherwise noted. Any course may be audited for no credit if there is room. There is no discount for auditing. Students may repeat a previously taken course, as the experience and content may be unique each time. Be advised that course repetition may not be accepted by many school districts or colleges.
Pennsylvania Act 48
Beginning July 1, 2000, Pennsylvania Act 48 of 1999 required persons holding Pennsylvania professional educator certification to complete continuing education requirements every five years in order to maintain their certificates as active.
All of our Summer Music Studies courses are eligible for Act 48 activity hours, and may be accrued during the current moratorium, as explained in the Act 45 & Act 48 Moratorium Update issued by the PA Department of Education.
Students must supply their unique PA Act 48 Professional Personal ID number upon registration in order to have his or her direct contact hours reported. Students should log into the PA Department of Education website (https://www.perms.ed.state.pa.us/Screens/wfPublicAccess.aspx) to obtain this ID number. Information regarding course activity hours will be reported to the Commonwealth website beginning in late summer and continuing through early fall.

In the event your first choice is not available, if you opt for 'YES' in the waiting list column, we will put you on the waiting list and enroll you in your second choice (if applicable). If your first choice becomes available, we will contact wait-listed students in the order in which registrations were received. If you have not indicated a second choice and the course you have selected is full, we will notify you by email. If you make a deposit in order to be placed on the waiting list for a course that is full, you will receive a full refund of the deposit if a spot in the course does not open.
