The Office of Music Activities promotes, maintains, and supervises the efforts of student performing groups on the Villanova campus. These groups include bands, choirs, acapella, orchestra, dance groups, theater, musical theater and band auxiliary (half time dances & twirlers).

The Office of Music Activities provides Villanova students with unique opportunities to perform, travel, and share their talents and interests. Villanova musicians, dancers, and actors are from every school in the University. They form close friendships and develop high standards of performance, balanced by a spirit of fun and excitement.

November

19-22 Proof
Villanova Student Theatre Presents
Proof  by David Auburn.  See this Pulitzer Prize and Tony winning play in St. Mary's Auditorium, 11/18-22 (Tues-Sat) 8pm, additional matinee at 2pm on 11/22.
20-21 Tickets for VST's Proof are on sale at the Connelly Center Thursday & Friday.

One Act Submissions due to vstheatre@gmail.com.  Accepting submissions (original or not) of Monologues (5-10 minutes), One Acts (15min), Short Scenes, & Skits.  If you are writing an original piece, either submit the full piece or if not finished, a short synopsis and character list.

The Band plays for the Men's Basketball Game vs Bucknell, 8pm in the Pavilion.  The Haveners lead the National Anthem and Dance Team performs at half time.

21 Villanova Student Musical Theater (VSMT) General Body Meeting,  St. Mary's Auditorium 2:30pm.  Submissions for our 3rd Show of the academic year will be collected at this meeting.
21-23

The Villanova Singers Fall Tour to Baltimore.   Here's where we'll be singing:

  • Friday Night:  College of Notre Dame
  • Saturday 4:30pm Mass:  St. Leo the Great Church
  • Sunday Morning:  Flag Raising at Fort McHenry

We hope the Baltimore Area Alumni will be able to catch one of our performances!

22 Nova Nassa performs during the South Asian Multicultural Organized Students Association (SAMOSA) yearly Cultural Show.  6pm, Villanova Room.

Villanova Singers & Voices host a Quizzo Night Fundraiser, 8pm CEER 001.  Advance tickets are available, $20 per team of 4.  Prizes & food included!!  For more info, visit our FB Quizzo Event.

Auditions for VST One Acts

Tips for picking monologue:

  • Pick one that fits your age range and gender (If you're a young female, don't pick King Lear's monologue!)
  • Pick one you enjoy! (The audience won't love it unless you love it!)
  • Something you connect with/understand (It makes it easier to perform when you connect with the character you play)

The Band plays for the Women's Basketball Home Operner vs. La Salle, 7:30pm in the Pavilion.  The Voices lead the National Anthem in honor of Voices member Karlie Crispin's first home game and Wildcat Dancers perform at half time.

20 Band Alumni play for the Men's Basketball Game vs. Syracuse, 1pm at the Wells Fargo Center.  Spires lead the National Anthem.

Acapella, auditioned Dance Groups, and Theater Groups with Fall Productions have all held their Auditions.   Check back near the end of the semester for mid-academic year opportunities to audition.

  • Villanova Student Musical Theatre - To get involved, join us at a General Meeting, 2:30-3:30pm - St. Mary's Auditorium, 8/29, 9/5, 9/19, 10/3, 10/10, 10/24, 11/14, 11/21, 12/5.   Rehearsals for auditioned parts are held prior to productions.
