Women of Color Luncheon

Women of Color

During the winter of 2002, two colleagues – Nancy C. Lee and Linda Coleman saw the need to create a scholarship for underrepresented women on Villanova’s campus.  This scholarship was designed to aid them with college expenses.  Now in its 10th year (one year was cancelled), the Committee has expanded as well as the number of scholarships given and its attendees.

Recipients of the scholarship are nominated based on the following:

  • Be involved in the Villanova Community
  • Be in good academic and disciplinary standing
  • Must have a financial need
  • Committed to service

You are cordially invited to attend the 2015 Villanova University Women of Color Scholarship Luncheon on Friday, May 1, 2015. The luncheon theme is “Sisters: Shattering the Self-Imposed Glass Ceiling”. The luncheon will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the Villanova Room, Connelly Center, Villanova University, and is open to all who may be interested. The keynote speaker is Ms. Tonya Ladipo. Ms. Ladipo has extensive experience in social work and counseling, and is the founder of The Ladipo Group, a therapy and consulting practice focused on serving minority youth and adults.

Proceeds will be used for a scholarship for a deserving underrepresented Villanova female student. The cost is $35.00 per person, the purchase of a table of eight (8) is $250.  The student price is $15.00 per student.  Please reserve your ticket by calling Bridget Lemke at (610) 519-4075 or you may purchase your tickets at www.villanovatix.com.
