In the Center for Multicultural Affairs we believe that how students transition from high school to college will determine their future academic success. We recognize that college is about negotiating many different kinds of changes: living away from home, managing new friends, dealing with challenging academic expectations, determining future goals and the steps necessary to achieve them.
In short, we realize that one of the most important lessons to be learned in college is how to move successfully among the many changes life holds for us all. Our goal is to create the kind of comprehensive, individually responsive services that will help students figure out for themselves where they are going and how they are going to get there.
With graduation as the goal of every college student we know that all students are working to transform themselves from student to graduate. We believe that there can be no transformation without transition. Transitional Services is at the core of our mission in the Center for Multicultural Affairs.
