In conjunction with the Diversity Programming Committee the Center for Multicultural Affairs offers workshops and luncheons for faculty of the University. Sometimes the workshops feature outside experts. Just recently, diversity educators Tim Wise and Lee Mun Wah came to Villanova. The Center has also sponsored webinars and follow-up discussions on a variety of topics that included: Retaining African American Students and Strategies for Recruiting and Hiring Diverse Faculty. Presentations by CMA staff members to different groups of faculty members have included: Teaching Caterpillars to Fly: Working with Underrepresented Students, Civic Discourse Faculty Development Workshop, and Advising Across the Lines of Difference. CMA will also work with department committee to create their own training program on issues of inclusion and diversity. For further information contact Terry Nance at terry.nance@villanova.edu.
