Coordinator

  • Oversee the Executive Board of A.C.T.
  • Interview and select the Co-Chairs
  • Hold regular meetings (weekly or biweekly), create agenda for meetings
  • Coordinate master schedule of events w/ Co-Chairs
  • Coordinate all training efforts w/ Co-Chairs
  • Assist all Co-Chairs in any/all efforts for A.C.T.
  • Manage Learning Edge Worshop schedule
  • Maintain website
    • Attend web training
    • Update links and event dates
  • Purchase Executive Board gifts
  • Collect bi-weekly reports
  • Meet one-on-one w/ each Co-Chair
    • Share concerns
    • Review schedule

Co-Chairs - Reports to Coordinator

  • Oversee all aspects of the specific subgroups
    • DPE’s
      • Maintain accurate list of facilitators
      • Manage the Learning Edge calendar of workshops w/ Coordinator
      • Assign facilitators for Learning Edge workshops w/ Coordinator
      • Recruit new members for facilitator training and ML class
    • S.T.T.E.P.
      • Manage and know the STTEP calendar of events
      • Maintain running list of performers
      • Manage all scripts used by STTEP
      • Publicize the events for the A.C.T. organization
      • Explore new ideas or performance opportunities
    • IMPACT
      • Manage and know the IMPACT calendar of events 
      • Contact and recruit students for the panel
      • Provide knowledge of the guidelines for panel discussions
      • Be the liaison between the Admission office and the A.C.T. w/Coordinator
      • Manage the panel discussions with special groups
  • Hold regular meetings (weekly or biweekly) w/ Coordinator
  • Coordinate general body meetings
  • Attend all workshops and training

What do ACT members do?

Learning Edge Community Builders or “CBs” and Performances… CBs are activities during the workshops for ACT to interact with the Villanova community in order to build a universal experience and shared understanding while increasing awareness, knowledge, and skill surrounding issues of social justice, privilege, power, oppression and social identity. Performance based activities such as Orientation’s Touch of Diversity (10-30 minute performances is based on a compilation of faculty, staff, and student experiences (old and new) related to issues of difference, inclusion and the Villanova experience), can be a useful experience for faculty, staff, and student organizations to promote discussion in classrooms and team meetings in departments across campus. As well as include on syllabi and staff trainings. Both CB and performance presentations are followed by dialogue which debriefs the activity. This is a time for breaking down barriers and reflecting on the presentation.  While ACT does create and implement programs when a bias related incident occurs; ACT is more proactive than reactive.
