During the winter of 2002, two colleagues – Nancy C. Lee and Linda Coleman saw the need to create a scholarship for underrepresented women on Villanova’s campus. This scholarship was designed to aid them with college expenses. Now in its 10th year (one year was cancelled), the Committee has expanded as well as the number of scholarships given and its attendees.
Receipents of the scholarship are nominated based on the following:
- Be involved in the Villanova Community
- Be in good academic and disciplinary standing
- Must have a financial need
- Committed to service
