VIEW was founded in 1997, started out as RISE (Rosemont Initiatives in Student Education) and was founded by Robert J. Mulvihill, a professor at Rosemont College. In the spring of 2010, the organization moved to Villanova University where it is now housed in the Center for Multicultural Affairs. For the last thirteen years, the program has worked to support the college aspirations of Philadelphia high school girls. The move to Villanova allows us to enhance and develop a successful program by helping underrepresented and first generation girls, from selected Philadelphia high public schools, prepare for successful college admission and achievement. With new resources and facilities and the commitment of a very skilled Villanova Center for Multicultural Affairs, the students and staff of VIEW are ready to renew their efforts.
