Each year our Fundraising Committee provides a variety of activities within both Villanova and the greater community to increase awareness of our program and raise funds for our events. This year is no different, and we are excited to announce the following Fundraising events:

Strides 2012

This year's annual 5k run/walk event: "Take a Walk on the Wild Side!" has participants striding across campus to benefit the Fall Festival. See our Strides Information page for more details.

Acapella-SpO-Looza

Come watch five of our campus' premiere acapella groups perform to benefit our Fall Festival! This year's event will be held on October 4th at 7:00 PM in the Cinema in Connelly. Tickets are $5 in advance and $7 at the door. Learn more on our Facebook page as the event approaches!

"Start Your Day Wright" Mugs

Start your day "wright" with Jay Wright! Villanova Special Olympics is proud to partner with Jay Wright, coach of the Villanova men's basketball team, to distribute specialty "Start your day off Wright" coffee mugs, each depicting the beloved coach. These mugs come in two styles, depicting either a portrait or caricature picture of Jay Wright, and 100% of all proceeds will be donated to Special Olympics.

Mugs are available online or at various campus locations, including the Villanova Bookstore and Holy Grounds. They will also be available for purchase in 214 Dougherty during regular business hours. Both Wildcard and credit card are accepted forms of payment.

Dress Down Day

Faculty members can support the Fall Festival by taking part in a Dress Down Day on November 4th. Contact your Department Chair for more information.

Phi Sig Fundraiser

The Phi Sigma Kappa Fraternity will be in the Quad to help with Sophomore move-in August 25-26. They will assist in any way needed and all donations collected will go directly to support the Special Olympics Fall Festival. They will be ready to help throughout the day for both Sheehan and Sullivan!

DID YOU KNOW...?

Fact: Eunice Kennedy Shriver organized the first International Special Olympics Games in 1968. Held at Chicago's Soldier Field, the event consisted of 1,000 athletes from 26 states and Canada competing in track and field, swimming, and floor hockey.
