Roller Skating is a Special Olympics sport with many different facets. Athletes are given the option to compete in artistic events or speed events. In addition to the choice of sport, athletes may choose to use in-line or quad skates, depending on their strengths. For artistic competition, men and women compete separately. The competition is further divided into four levels, each level progressively more difficult and requiring different elements. Speed events offer a variety of distances for all skill levels, as well as relay and slalom events.

Roller Town at Marple
This year we will be seeking volunteers throughout the community to help sponsor a new activities carnival at Marple Sports Arena. We feel this is an important addition to make to enhance the experience of the off campus athletes and bring Villanova Spirit to the venue through the new "Roller Town"!
Facilities
This year's venue is Marple Sports Arena in Broomall, PA. The sport court floor of Marple Sports Arena is 75 feet wide by 170 feet long, so routines should be adjusted accordingly.

From Villanova University:
- Take 476 South towards Chester
- Take Exit 9 Broomall/Upper Darby
- Off ramp, make a Left onto West Chester Pike/Route 3
- Turn Right onto Lawrence Road
- Go thru 3 lights
- At the 4th light, make a left onto Parkway Drive
- Go thru 2 intersections and continue onto East Park Way Drive
- Marple Sports Arena will be on the left
