Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by the hurricane damage in Texas and many have asked how they can support the recovery efforts. Campus Ministry has collected donations at the weekend masses for two organizations that will benefit from your generosity, listed below. We know they will appreciate your prayers and support during this difficult time.
Catholic Charities USA (CCUSA), the official domestic relief agency of the U.S. Catholic Church, relies on support to ensure their delivery of compassionate care and support to individuals affected by disasters. Their services are provided to the community regardless of religion, social or economic background.
Donations are collected online https://app.mobilecause.com/vf/CCUSADISASTER and by texting CCUSADISASTER to 71777.
Casa Juan Diego was founded in 1980, following the Catholic Worker model of Dorothy Day and Peter Maurin, to serve immigrants and refugees and the poor. Casa Juan Diego was able to prepare their houses with basic foods and water and paper goods to help others who came to their door seeking food before the storm hit. They are now in need of funds so they can continue to supply food, personal needs, and clothing to those that have been affected by the storm.
