Sorority Recruitment Overview
Sorority recruitment takes place the week before classes start in January. Women move-in to their dorm rooms early to participate in the 5-day recruitment process.Throughout the recruitment process, students who are hoping to join sororities are referred to as Potential New Members or PNMs. Each PNM will be assigned a Recruitment Counselor to guide them through the process.
Eligibilty
In order to be eligible to participate in a Greek organization, one must have completed at least the first semester of freshmen year and achieved an overall GPA of no less than 2.5.
Why should you join?
The decision to participate in fraternity or sorority recruitment is very personal and can often be intimidating. We encourage you to learn as much about the various groups as possible. Educating yourself is the only way to ensure that you make the best decision possible. Ways to do so include checking out the Greek Life web site, stopping a member of a fraternity or sorority organization, or coming by the Greek Life Office and chatting it up with the staff.
Most students get involved in Greek Life because it provides them with opportunities for leadership, service, improved scholastic resources and lifelong friendships that will last decades beyond college. Getting involved in the Villanova Greek Community is a positive experience that expands a Villanova student’s horizons and enables them to be involved in many facets of the University.
In University Life you will be faced with many opportunities and many challenges. You may have some unanswered questions going through your mind whether you're a new freshman, a continuing student, or a transfer student.
These concerns are very common. Every one likes to belong to and feel a part of something. Fraternities and Sororities offer you the chance to meet people who share your interests and values as natural friends.
Greek Organizations can help you find your niche on campus, be your home away from home, offer resources to help you achieve your academic goals, encourage you to get involved in campus organizations, let you play on that winning intramural team, and give you a group of friends that will cheer you on when you're successful and who will support you when the going gets tough.
Check out the hundreds upon hundreds of significant men and women who made the wise decision, during their collegiate years, to join a fraternity or sorority.

Hazing Policy: Hazing, in any form, is strictly prohibited by Villanova University, the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils, and the local and national offices of each recognized fraternity. New members should not tolerate such behavior as it does not promote friendship and trust but rather serves to break down moral and the notion of community upon which Villanova University was founded.
