Entertainment Committee

The Entertainment Committee encompasses a broad range of acts, from comedy to music to novelty and so on. If you want to see an event or activity on campus and you don't know which committee it might fall under, come our meetings. We like to have musical events, hypnotists, casino nights, comedians, trips, contests, parties, Halloween fun, etc. So join Entertainment and help plan what you want on campus; learn to program events for Villanova and meet lots of new people who are interested in the same things as you!

Special Events Committee

The Special Events Committee is responsible for bringing all kinds of fun to Villanova. Mainly responsible for Holiday events, like Merry Christmas Villanova, Stupid Cupid, and the campus wide Easter Egg Hunt, Special Events brings the holiday spirit to Villanova. Special Events is also responsible for planning one of the most important weekends of the year, Little Wildcat Weekend! If being a part of a committee that creates connections and memories among students, than Special Events is for you! Join Today!

Welcome to the Films Committee of the Campus Activities Team. Our committee organizes and selects the films  shown each semester, as well as special movie events on and off campus.The Films Committee is a great committee to join to get a sneak peek at new and upcoming movies, and to view new movie trailers.

Check out Hollywood blockbusters on campus, right after they hit the theaters and before they even make it to DVD. The Films Committee of the Campus Activities Team (CAT) brings great movies to campus every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday night while classes are in session. Movies are free and shown in the Connelly Center Cinema. Most weekly movies are now shown in Blu-ray™ high definition. Times can change subject to availability

Ideas & Issues

The Ideas & Issues committee creates interactive programs, brings keynote speakers, and organizes large events to highlight the social and political topics that VU students care about most. In the past, we've brought Archbishop Desmond Tutu, Kool Mo Dee, Mo Rocca, Howard Dean, William Bennett, and even comedian Dane Cook. The Ideas & Issues committee also works with other campus groups on large events such as, helping to throw a pre-game tailgate for the big Oklahoma-VU Men's Basketball game, teaming up with groups across campus to organize VU's first "Concert for a Cure," an AIDS benefit concert featuring Guster and The Roots.

Music Committee

Bringing you the likes of The White Panda, Twenty-One Pilots, Alesso, Chiddy Bang, Wale, The Fray, and Girl Talk,  CAT Music is here for your entertainment! With our finger ever on the pulse of the Villanova student body, the music committee is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of some of the most high profile student programming events at Villanova. Members will potentially have the opportunity to meet and work with the talent we bring as well as have many opportunities to participate outside larger scale concerts.  Come behind the scenes and be a part of the team that makes it all happen. If music is your passion, then this is the committee for you!

Possible Member Responsibilities


Members of the Music committee participate in the production of our concerts, shows and Live Music Wednesdays series.  Committee-members assist with equipment set-up, hospitality, security and ticketing, among other duties.  Additionally, members help plan future shows on campus.

Student Life Committee

The Student Life Committee is the official liaison linking CAT with the rest of the Villanova community. Members of the committee will encourage and seek opportunities for collaborative programming with other student organizations and on-campus departments, strengthening CAT's relationship with them in the process. Additional information for commuters is also available with the Office of Student Life.

Possible Member Responsibilities

  • Stay active within CAT and on campus in general
  • Work with other student groups to assist in their programming efforts
  • Help to create, organize, and manage events co-programmed with other groups and departments on campus
Happy Fridays

Major Events Include:

  • Happy Friday: Distribute free candy, hot chocolate, Oreos, or other giveaways every Friday from 11:30-1:30 in the Oreo plaza. Music provided by WXVU 89.1 FM Villanova Radio. Encourage student groups to come and run their own promotions at Happy Friday and invite off-campus vendors to come promote their products (free advertising!).
  • Men's Basketball Game Watch Parties: During Men's Basketball away games, stop by the Belle Air Terrace for basketball contests, free giveaways, and music courtesy of Tech Crew.
  • Commuter Luncheon Series: All Villanova commuter students are invited to Commuter Luncheon events, held in the Devon Room of the Connelly Center from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. Stop in to enjoy free lunch with other commuters!

Marketing Committee

Once you join any of the other 8 committees, there is potential to become the marketing sub-chairperson within your committee. As a sub-chairperson you will work with the Marketing Chair to develop promotional material, advertisements and an image for CAT, focusing on the committee you belong to. Great experience to practice graphic design skills as well as being involved with social media promotion. If you are creative and would love to get further involved with CAT, the Marketing Committee is for you!
