We have had quite a few great suggestions. Here are just a few of them! Please feel free to give us some of your suggestions!

- A suggestion was made to install "seat covers" in the Ladies Room in Basement of Kennedy Hall. This installation is being completed by Custodial Services.
- It was suggested that since four parking spaces dedicated to handicapped parking were lost due to the re-configuration of Kennedy parking lot, to allot space in SAC lot nearest to Connelly Center. Facilities will re-create the handicap spots when Phase III of Transforming the Campus Landscape is complete, around the new expanded circle behind Connelly Center.
- A suggestion was made to install changing tables in the restrooms to assist families with young children. Changing tables are being installed in the Connelly Center Men's and Women's restrooms.
- A suggestion was made to reinstate the refillable coffee cups that Dining Services offered. Travel mugs are on sale at Dining Services locations and the policy is any VU mug receives $.25 off a refill of a beverage and any other non-VU mug receives $.10 off.
- It was suggested by an employee to paint directional arrows and have one-way traffic in the Kennedy parking lot for safety issues. Facilities installed a one-way sign and painted directional arrows.
- A suggestion was made for the Parking Office to consider an online request system for notifying the gates of VIP visitors for meetings/events to campus. This process is being pursed by the Parking Office.
- It was suggested by an employee for Facilities to look into maintaing all the handicap accessible doors on campus. Maintenance formulated a plan to have these doors checked more frequently to ensure proper operations and a preventive maintenance flag has been incorporated in the work order system that will automatically print out operation checks for all of these types of doors.
- A suggestion was made to add birth/adoption announcements to the Campus Currents. This is being created on the myNOVA for faculty and staff who wish to share their good news with the campus community.
- A suggestion was made to provide a Shuttle Bus to Garey Hall. Public Safety implemented a Garey Hall stop at the Southwest corner of Garey Hall (the Northwest corner of the Spring Mill Garage).
- A suggestion was made to place hand sanitizers on campus in buildings, classrooms, chapel, etc. Hand sanitizers are in the fitness rooms and dining halls. Residence Life will be installing hand sanitizers in the dormitories by winter. If departments want to order hand sanitizers and stock for their areas, the Custodial Department will monitor and refill from their stock as needed.
- A suggestion was made for Banner reports to print double sided. If your printer has duplex capability and is a network printer, you can type in ldup16 in the special print box on Banner form GJAPCTL and your output will print double sided.
- A suggestion was made to devise a way to dispose of old equipment (Labs/computers). Team was formed to dispose of these types of equipment through recycling.
- A suggestion was made to play the Alma Mater on the Corr Chapel Bell Tower. A new Carillon was placed in Core Hall. Alma Mater is played at 8:00 p.m. every evening. The chimes ring every hour and play appropriate music throughout the year.
- It was suggested that there be a 2nd exit lane out of the main parking lot onto Ithan Avenue. This was completed.
- It was suggested that tours of the Arboretum be given for faculty & Staff. Tours were inaugurated and occur several times a semester as “Lunch and Learn” topics.
- A suggestion was made that special shuttle schedule be developed during exam times for students living at Rosemont College. This was successfully accomplished.
- A suggestion was made to have Emergency Phone Numbers posted in every classroom and office on campus. A team was formed and stickers with emergency numbers were posted on every telephone on campus.
- A suggestion was made that magazine/newspaper racks be put in Mendel Science Center because papers were strewn everywhere. Facilities Management carpenters built the racks and have put them in Mendel Science Center.
- It was suggested that emergency phone numbers be placed on all telephones in offices and dorm rooms and in all public areas of the University. This is in the process of being completed.
- A suggestion was made that a Founder's Day Celebration be inaugurated. This suggestion resulted in an enormously successful St. Thomas of Villanova Day--Liturgy, Academic Convocation, Parade, Festive Dinner.
- A student suggested consolidating all commencement materials for pickup at one spot. Previously, a student would visit several offices collecting materials necessary for graduation.
- An employee suggested that nine-month employees should not pay the same parking fee as full-time employees. The parking fee has been pro-rated to accommodate nine-month employees.
- A suggestion was made that there be more mini-workshops so that employees can learn and meet one another. There are now on average, six mini-workshops per month.
- A suggestion was made requesting payroll deduction for parking fee. This was inaugurated and many employees have taken advantage of this method.
- A suggestion was made to develop a Green Purchasing Policy. A VQI Environmental Team was formed and the policy was passed.
- A suggestion was made by an employee that an on staff photographer be hired. This occurred and has been successful.
