Carol Anthony, Center for Peace and Justice
This year's Distinguished Service for an Individual will be presented to Carol Anthony. Carol is described as "unbelievably generous, humble, passionate, thoughtful, and hospitable." She is "committed to service in her own life shown through her community service at Villanova, to justice in Philadelphia and globally." Her nominators affirm that “Carol has distinguished herself as a remarkable leader of Villanova’s mission to advance the causes of social justice and peace.”

Marybeth Avioli, University Information Technologies
This year's Distinguished Service for an Individual will be presented to Marybeth Avioli. As noted in her nominations, Marybeth is "an incredibly hard-working professional." "She will never say, “This can’t be done”; it is always “We’ll make it work”. In addition to her job, Marybeth is active with NOVAL – the North Light Villanova Alliance, Midnight Shift Recognition Team; she volunteers at Laurel House, a domestic violence shelter and coordinates a UNIT project where multiple times a year items are sent to military men and women in Iraq and Afghanistan. She is praised in her tireless efforts to serve the University and has earned the respect of her colleagues across campus.

The University Staff Council Implementation Team will receive the Distinguished Service Award for demonstrated excellence and exceptional collaboration. Charged with preserving the best community-building activities of VQI while creating an organization to provide a voice for University staff, the USC Implementation Team went above and beyond the call of duty and has found success in the newly formed University Staff Council (USC).
