Villanova Dining Services takes pride in the local and sustainable items that we offer on our daily menus. Local Thursday was developed to highlight our efforts to provide these items.
Each Thursday the breakfast, lunch, and dinnner menus in our resident dining halls are built around locally sourced items that are available that week. Local Thursday is much more than the selection of local produce we offer. We help support local farmers and their communities and purchase sustainable produce so we are able to lower our carbon footprint by reducing travel.
Our mushrooms are always grown locally in Kennett Square, PA. Our shelled eggs are cage free and are sourced from various farms in Lancaster County. Certain fish, beans, bread, rolls, and bagels are also purchased locally to support this initiative.
