Avoiding The "Freshman 15"
Follow a few simple steps to help yourself avoid gaining that dreaded extra weight when you go away to college.
- Don’t skip meals, especially breakfast, it gets your metabolism going in the morning.
- Drink lots of water to prevent bloating.
Include at least three food groups in every meal and vary your colors.
- Control your portions!
- Treat yourself occasionally. It will keep you from overindulging later.
- Avoid a fourth meal. Instead, have a healthy snack of about 200 calories to satisfy late night hunger.
