The mission of the Department of Public Safety is to provide a safe and secure environment that is conducive to the learning process for all members of the University community. Additionally, the Department is responsible for the detection and prevention of crime and the enforcement of University rules and regulations.
Members of the Department are committed to assisting in the effective accomplishment of the University's and Department's missions. By working together, challenging the process, focusing on issues and behaviors, and enabling others to act, we will be modeling the way for the future of the University and Department. Our goal is to create an environment wherein Department members interact interdependently with other community members and organizations in a professional, positive, and consistent manner.
The Department provides a variety of services to the University community, including; proactive and preventative patrol, investigations, parking enforcement, residence hall protection, building/facility security, fire safety/prevention, crime prevention programs, crime prevention surveys, and special event security.
