A Letter from the Director
Dear Honors Alumni and Friends of the Honors Program,
Welcome to our annual Honors Alumni Newsletter!
In this issue, we feature some of the hallmarks of Honors. We feature the Connelly-Delouvrier Scholarship for international study, which has generously allowed Honors students to study abroad for many years. Another Honors hallmark is our outstanding faculty, and in this issue we highlight Dr. John Doody, a beloved professor and past Director of the Honors Program. We also celebrate the achievements of our students who have won prestigious fellowships in the past academic year; featured here is Carl Nathan Ober, currently on a Fulbright. Also featured is Grace Lassiter, a current Honors student who is preparing to intern with the World Health Organization. Our student editors also interviewed some of our freshmen living in the Honors dorm about their favorite classes so far at Villanova. Last, we bring you our annual features on our Senior Thesis writers, our Honors students abroad and some recommended reading from an Honors faculty member.
As always, we invite you to join our Alumni Linked In group if you have not already done so, and to become an Alumni Mentor to our current students.
I look forward to meeting and reconnecting with you at upcoming events. I hope this message finds you and your families well.
Thomas W. Smith, Ph.D.
