Before the semester officially concludes, I wanted to share with you updates on two important University initiatives.
Economic & Community Impact Report
Villanova recently completed its first-ever Economic and Community Impact Report. Both a summary and complete version can be viewed online, and a limited number of paper copies are available in the Office of the President.
The Report illustrates how the University’s role as an employer, purchaser of goods and services and a destination for visitors helps generate a total annual economic impact of nearly $700 million throughout Pennsylvania and more than $50 million right here in Radnor Township. In addition, the Report also details a few of the many contributions Villanova makes to the community through service, partnerships and programs for local residents.

Proposed Residence Halls & Related Projects
I am pleased that many members of the Villanova community attended the Town Hall meetings last week regarding the residence halls and related projects proposed for the current main parking lots along Lancaster Avenue. We have conducted similar meetings for our neighbors and will continue to engage them and Radnor Township officials as the University moves forward with the planning and approval process.
As was noted in the meetings, there is a great deal that must be accomplished before the first shovel hits the ground. However, it is exciting to see the plans take shape and envision the opportunities we will have to better serve our students.
A website has been created with key information related to this proposed project. It includes an overview of the various elements as well as a series of renderings. The website will be updated regularly as the process and project moves forward, and I look forward to keeping you informed.
During this season of reflection, I give thanks for the blessings each member of our community has bestowed upon Villanova University. May you and your families be blessed with the miracle of Christmas.
