Cap and Gown Details

Cap and Gown Distribution

Academic Attire will be available for graduates to pick up at the Class of 2017 Graduation Fair (Dates TBD).  Along with cap and gowns, graduates will pick up their seating tickets and have the opportunity to meet someone from the Villanova University Alumni Association, pick up a yearbook or diploma frame from the University Shop or make a gift to the Senior Class Gift. Graduating students must bring their Wildcard or have their Student ID number in order to get their cap, gown and seating tickets.

Villanova University uses the traditional black cap and gown for its Commencement activities.

There is no fee for academic attire.

Undergraduate students DO NOT need to order or be measured ahead of time. When you arrive at pickup, you will be given a form to complete which includes all of the necessary information.

Graduate students have the opportunity to either pick up their academic attire at the Graduation Fair (no fee) or have the items shipped to their home (shipping fee applies).  To pre-order your cap and gown and have it shipped, visit here.

Keep Your Cap and Gown

Graduates will keep all academic attire at the conclusion of the ceremonies.

Another Person Will Pick It Up

If you are unable to pick up your cap and gown personally, you may have someone pick them up for you. Please provide that person in advance with written/emailed permission that includes your name, height, degree and Student ID number. They must provide that information during cap and gown distribution in order to receive your academic attire.
