Throughout the year, we're involved with many events and initiatives that characterize our University's mission. We will continually keep you updated on any new projects.
Events
The Office of the President coordinates large, University-wide events such as the St. Thomas of Villanova Celebration and University Commencement. Students, faculty and staff from throughout the University work together throughout the year to ensure that these events are inclusive and representative of Villanova’s Augustinian ideals.
The annual St. Thomas of Villanova Celebration takes place over two days in September and serves as a celebration of the University’s Catholic, Augustinian mission and heritage. Events include an Academic Symposium, a Day of Service, a Community Liturgy and Dinner, and the presentation of staff Distinguished Service Awards.
Commencement serves as the culmination of an academic journey for Villanova students. Activities include a Reception with the President, College Recognition Ceremonies, the Baccalaureate Liturgy and conclude with the Commencement ceremony. Events throughout Commencement Weekend are designed so that family and friends can join the graduates in celebrating this important milestone.
Initiatives
The Office of the President also provides support for key Presidential initiatives, including the Strategic Plan and the Campus Master Plan.
The Strategic Plan is being developed to identify academic and programmatic priorities which will guide the University as it seeks to strengthen its position in higher education. The Campus Master Plan, developed as part of the Strategic Planning process, will provide direction for the University as it considers how its physical plant can best be used to meet current and future needs.
Both the Strategic Plan and the Campus Master Plan have been developed through collaborative, inclusive processes which have incorporated input from members of the Villanova community as well as external stakeholders.
