The General Arts major is an interdisciplinary major within the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Students in the program select a General Arts concentration in one of the following areas:
- Social Sciences
- Independent Studies
Students pursuing the Bachelor of Arts in General Arts must plan a course of study incorporating different academic disciplines. Such a degree allows a student to define their focus to prepare for future opportunities.
The Bachelor of Arts in General Arts is similar to the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies General Studies degree. The two degrees differ in their core requirements. For example, a Bachelor of Arts in General Arts has foreign language and lab science requirements, whereas the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies does not. Thus, the Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies allows for more electives.
