Director, Simulation and Learning Resource Center
The Simulation and Learning Resouce Center is more than just a high-tech environment. Just as critical to its operations are its staff who work closely with faculty to provide the ideal learning enviroment to dovetail with teaching strategies.
Susan Markert has a varied background including pharmaceutical sales. Her role is pivotal in the Simulation/Learning Resource Center. She works with graduate and undergraduate students and part time staff in the coordination the daily operations of the Simulation/Learning Resource Center. She supports the Director in the management and purchase of supplies, oversees building maintenance, and supports students as they seek assistance from graduate students and peer mentors. She works with faculty in the implementation of plans for labs, simulation experiences and student testing.
Trisha is a Certified Simulation Healthcare Educator and a member of the International Nursing Association for Clinical Simulation and Learning. Trisha helps to create a realistic environment for simulation. In additon to working with faculty on new simulation endeavors, she supports the Simulation/LRC staff by programming mannequins, medication administration machines, creating electronic medical records for simulated patients, and managing other simulation resources. She also supports faculty and students in preparation for and during simulation activities.
Anita serves as a technical expert to various individuals and departments in the Fitzpatrick College of Nursing including the Simulation/LRC staff. In the Simulation/LRC environment, she oversees the management of the audiovisual/ recording system, including assisting faculty and staff with development, implementation and summarization of survey data obtained from simulation users. She supports the lab staff with technical needs/problem management/ and sometimes repairs associated with all mannequins, medication dispensing machines, computers, laptops, scheduling resources, and other technical equipment.
Denise and Carol are both bachelor’s prepared RNs who assist lab staff, faculty and students in many ways by managing with lab set up/ breakdown, and supporting faculty and students during simulation lab and testing experiences. They also support the lab staff in other daily operations.
