Assistant Dean for College and Student Services

The College of Nursing at Villanova University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month tenure track Assistant Dean for College and Student Services.  

The Assistant Dean will oversee academic support services and student advisement for the College, will serve as a key member of the Dean’s administrative team and will hold a faculty position.

PhD in nursing or related field required, along with previous experience in teaching and academic administration in college or university academic nursing program. Director of Continuing Education

The College of Nursing at Villanova University invites applications for a full-time Director of Continuing Education (CE). The Director will hold a faculty position and manage and be responsible for CE programs and activities for the College.

The Director will conduct needs assessments; develop strategic initiatives, interprofessional offerings and College lecture series; develop, plan and evaluate CE programs; teach; maintain ANCC professional accreditation status; develop revenue streams; and oversee the Center on Obesity Prevention and Education.

PhD in nursing (or degree completion within one year) and 5-7 years of experience in CE and/or professional development in nursing required. Candidate must have manage-ment experience, evidence of scholarly productivity and RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Pennsylvania. Background in adult education and certification in nursing professional development preferred.

Tenure Track Faculty Position– Nutrition

Mid-career researcher

The College of Nursing at Villanova University seeks nominations and applications for a full-time, tenure track position for mid-career faculty with preparation and expertise in nursing research.

The successful candidate will teach, advise, participate in guiding student projects and research, engage in research and scholarly work in area of specialty and maintain active involvement in the College, University and professional community. Expertise in quantitative and mixed methods is highly desirable. A record of funded research is preferred.

Qualifications: PhD in nursing or related field; master’s degree in nursing with appropriate specialty preparation; previous teaching experience in college or university academic program; evidence of scholarly productivity, grantsmanship and publications required. Nurse Practitioner Preceptor Opportunity 

If you are or someone you know is a nurse practitioner (NP) interested in sharing knowledge and skills, there are preceptor opportunities available at the College of Nursing for adult-gerontology, family, and pediatric NPs in primary care and specialty clinics in the Delaware Valley, Delaware and South Jersey areas.

Our students have clinical semesters at all times during the year-spring, summer and fall. Adult-gerontology and pediatric NP students have a minimum of 610 hours required over the clinical year. Family NP students have a minimum of 730 hours required over the clinical year.

The preceptor commitment is one day a week per preceptor for one semester. If you are precepting a summer student, that means approximately 70 hours, and for spring/fall students approximately 120 hours.

Part-Time Clinical Faculty Positions

The College of Nursing, Villanova University, has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct (part-time) faculty to provide clinical instruction in a variety of clinical nursing courses, including adult medical-surgical nursing, parent-child nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing and public/community health nursing.

Master’s degree in nursing, experience in the clinical specialty area and license to practice as a professional registered nurse in Pennsylvania is required. Prior teaching experience preferred.
