As a result of retirements, the College of Nursing at Villanova University invites applications for four full-time, tenure track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or Full Professor and two Non-Tenure Track positions.

  • Adult Health/Acute Care Nursing – Tenure Track Positions
  • Maternal-Infant Health Nursing – Tenure Track Position
  • Public Health/Health Policy – Tenure Track Position
  • Adult Health – Non-Tenure Track Positions

PhD in Nursing required for all tenure track positions. Master’s degree in nursing with appropriate specialty preparation and licensure or eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania required.  Previous teaching experience in an academic nursing program in a college or university preferred.  Evidence of scholarly productivity, grantsmanship and publications required.  Teaching  philosophy commensurate with Villanova’s  mission and values.  

Successful candidates will teach, advise, participate in guiding student projects and research, engage in research scholarly work in area of expertise and maintain active involvement in the College, University and professional community.

Nurse Practitioner Preceptor Opportunity 

If you are or someone you know is a nurse practitioner (NP) interested in sharing knowledge and skills, there are preceptor opportunities available at the College of Nursing for adult-gerontology, family, and pediatric NPs in primary care and specialty clinics in the Delaware Valley, Delaware and South Jersey areas.

Our students have clinical semesters at all times during the year-spring, summer and fall. Adult-gerontology and pediatric NP students have a minimum of 610 hours required over the clinical year. Family NP students have a minimum of 730 hours required over the clinical year.

The preceptor commitment is one day a week per preceptor for one semester. If you are precepting a summer student, that means approximately 70 hours, and for spring/fall students approximately 120 hours.

Part-Time Clinical Faculty Positions

The College of Nursing, Villanova University, has an ongoing need for highly qualified adjunct (part-time) faculty to provide clinical instruction in a variety of clinical nursing courses, including adult medical-surgical nursing, parent-child nursing, psychiatric-mental health nursing and public/community health nursing.

Master’s degree in nursing, experience in the clinical specialty area and license to practice as a professional registered nurse in Pennsylvania is required. Prior teaching experience preferred.
