Here is an opportunity to expand your basic physical assessment knowledge and skills by focusing on a holistic assessment of the adult and geriatric client. Pathophysiological processes, clinical manifestations of normal age changes and common disorders will be systematically reviewed. Related assessment techniques will be identified. Current screening tools and their use will be discussed. Assessment techniques used for common clinical conditions will be described and demonstrated. Emphasis will be on the identification of significant findings in the elderly population. You will have an opportunity for "hands-on" practice using diagnostic equipment and screening tools in a state-of-the-art simulation lab.
