  • Syria: Report From the Field, Wednesday, February, 26, Chandreyee Banerjee, coordinator for Catholic Relief Services' Syrian humanitarian response, gave an informal update on the situation and the relief efforts in the region.

CRS Ambassador Events and Internships

  • Buying into Fair Trade, Ambassadors had a three person panel consisting of a sociologist, economist and a Whole Foods manager on April 29th. The overall theme was to generate a discussion revolving around creating a culture of ethical consumption and business. The event was ACS approved. (90 persons attended) View the event on You Tube

  • October was Fair Trade Month, Ambassadors held "Fuel Up with Fair Trade" and distributed about 350 mini equal exchange chocolates and about 7.5L of Pura Vida  FT coffee in the library during midterms week and gave out over 200 FT chocolates for Halloween. 
  • Week of Solidarity with Syria's Refugees, Ambassadors invited the university community to an interfaith Vigil on Thursday, November 7, at 5:30 p.m. in St. Thomas of Villanova church for the purpose of expressing solidarity with Syria’s refugees.

Other

  • The weekly two minute radio feature called CRS World Report reporting on the humanitarian work of Catholic Relief Services will now be broadcast on Villanova Universities radio station WXVU. This project is coordinated by JJ Brown, Assistant Director of Student Development for Media Programs and Rachel Cooley, from the Kennedy Brownrigg Group who works with Catholic Relief Services on their radio awareness initiative. Rachel said “Your participation would aid in the lifesaving work of Catholic Relief Services and bring your listeners important & inspiring stories & information about humanitarian efforts abroad”.
