Noted Author Dr. Richard Oppenlander Visits Villanova Nov. 13 to Discuss “Food Choice and Sustainability”

Highlighting Villanova Dining Services’ Vegan Month, the lecture is free and open to the public

VILLANOVA, Pa. - Dr. Richard Oppenlander, author of the books Comfortably Unaware and Food Choice and Sustainability, will visit Villanova University on Thursday, Nov. 13, for a lecture entitled “Food Choice and Sustainability.” Part of Villanova Dining Services’ Vegan Month, the event begins at 6 p.m. in Driscoll Hall Auditorium, located on the campus of Villanova University.

Sponsored by The Theology Institute at Villanova University, in conjunction with Villanova Dining Services, the lecture is free and open to the public. A book signing and Vegan Reception follow Dr. Oppenlander’s Lecture.

“We are very excited to have Dr. Oppenlander joining us to speak to the Villanova Community,” said Alicia Farrow, Nutrition Marketing Manager in Villanova Dining Services. “This is the third consecutive year that Villanova Dining Services has invited a noted author to campus to speak about plant-based diets. We are grateful that Dr. Oppenlander is willing to share his message with our audience to inspire change.” 

Since the early 1970’s, Dr. Oppenlander has studied the effect our food choices have on our health and the immense impact those choices have on our environment. Dr. Oppenlander is author of the books Comfortably Unaware and Food Choice and Sustainability. His award-winning book “Comfortably Unaware,” has been highlighted by Ellen DeGeneres, Dr. Jane Goodall, and Dr. Neal Barnard, among many others.
