VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Center for Innovation, Creativity and Entrepreneurship (ICE Center) at Villanova University has announced the expansion of the Meyer Innovation and Creative Excellence Award (Meyer ICE Award) to include winners from the entire Villanova community. The award previously has been presented to a faculty member and a graduating student within the Villanova School of Business (VSB).
Inspired, designed and endowed by Patrick Meyer ’74 VSB, the Meyer Innovation and Creative Excellence Award was created in honor of the Meyer family (Patrick '74, Edward '86, and C. Paul '30) to recognize a spirit of innovation and creative excellence that enhances VSB and Villanova University.
Since 2009 the ICE Center has conferred two Meyer ICE Awards annually within VSB. Beginning with the current academic year, the ICE Center will begin awarding six Meyer ICE Awards annually. The Center will present five student awards—one to a graduating student from each college. Each student winner will receive a trophy and $1,000 prize. The ICE Center will continue to recognize one faculty member with the Meyer ICE Award, which includes a trophy and $2,500 prize. However, under the expansion of the award, a Villanova faculty member from any of the five colleges is now eligible for nomination. The expansion of the Meyer Innovation and Creative Excellence Award is made possible through the generosity of Patrick Meyer ’74 VSB. Patrick Meyer serves as an Advisory Council member for the ICE Center.
The ICE Center is an innovative driver of scholastic, educational, and professional development opportunities in the related areas of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship within the Villanova community. Although located within VSB and founded upon one of its four strategic pillars - innovation, the ICE Center has a multi-disciplinary and cross-college focus and seeks to advance the University's strategy by fostering cross-college learning and embedding entrepreneurial thinking more deeply in the Villanova culture.
