Villanova School of Business Executive MBA Program Ranked Among Top 20 U.S.-Based Programs by Financial Times

Program Recognized Among Top 5 US-Based Program for Aims Achieved

October 24, 2011 – Villanova, PA – For the sixth consecutive year, the Villanova School of Business (VSB) Executive MBA program is ranked by Financial Times as one of the top 100 programs in the world. In the ranking released today, VSB’s Executive MBA program placed #16 among U.S.- based programs and #51 worldwide. VSB also ranked among the Top 5 U.S.-Based programs in the area of “Aims Achieved” – a category that measures whether alumni achieved their goals – and #18 worldwide.

“The Financial Times ranking is directly correlated to the success and satisfaction of our executive MBA graduates,” said Robert Bonner, Associate Dean for Graduate and Executive Programs. “Our performance in this ranking underscores our success in delivering on our program promises, and demonstrates the strong return on investment that our alumni see as a result of the program.”

The Financial Times EMBA ranking is regarded globally as the premiere EMBA ranking. VSB’s ranking of #3, among U.S.-Based programs, for the success of alumni in achieving their goals puts the School’s EMBA program among the best programs in the nation in this category. VSB also placed strongly among U.S.-Based programs across a number of dimensions including “International Course Experience” (#8), “Work Experience” (#12) and “Salary of Graduates” (#13). VSB was also recognized for its diversity, ranking #14 for the school’s percentage of female students.

“Our high performance in the rankings illustrates that our focus on the student experience continues to distinguish VSB,” said Kevin D. Clark, PhD, Interim Dean for the Villanova School of Business. “Our graduates tell us that our curriculum and approach to the Executive MBA gives them a critical advantage in the increasingly competitive marketplace.”

In addition to being ranked by the Financial Times, VSB’s Executive MBA Program is ranked #1 in Peer Learning by the Wall Street Journal and the School’s MBA programs have been ranked among the best in the nation by The Princeton Review, Aspen Institute and Bloomberg BusinessWeek.

VSB serves over 2,500 students across its undergraduate and graduate programs. The Executive MBA program is a 21-month collaboration among highly motivated students, experienced faculty members, and seasoned business leaders. The curriculum emphasizes systems thinking—a way of conceptualizing, acting, and motivating others that enables effective executive leadership. The next Executive MBA open house will take place on Wednesday, November 16, 2011. Learn more at www.emba.villanova.edu.

Since 1842, Villanova University’s Augustinian Catholic intellectual tradition has been the cornerstone of an academic community in which students learn to think critically, act compassionately and succeed while serving others. There are more than 10,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students in the University’s five colleges—the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, the Villanova School of Business, the College of Engineering, the College of Nursing and the Villanova University School of Law. As students grow intellectually, Villanova prepares them to become ethical leaders who create positive change everywhere life takes them.
