On January 7, Susan Peikes Gantman ’77 was elected the new President Judge for the Pennsylvania Superior Court, the Commonwealth’s intermediate court of appeals for criminal and private civil litigation. She went on to serve as an Assistant District Attorney for Montgomery County and as Solicitor for the Montgomery County Office of Children and Youth and the Montgomery County Housing and Community Development.

Judge Gantman entered the private sector in 1981, focusing her practice on litigation, domestic law, juvenile law, Orphans’ Court actions and appellate practice. In 1991, she joined Sherr, Joffe & Zuckerman, P.C. as Partner and Chair of the Domestic Relations Section. From 1998 to 2003, Judge Gantman was a senior member and co-chair of the Family Law Section at Cozen O’Connor. Judge Gantman’s second term will begin in January 2014.

A dedicated alumna, Judge Gantman is a Master of the Villanova University School of Law J. Willard O'Brien American Inn of Court. The Inn’s mission is to foster excellence in professionalism, ethics, civility and legal skills among members of the bench and bar.
