Scholarships

Scholarships are one of the types of financial aid that can be available to you to help finance your education.  It is usually the most sought after type of aid because it typically refers to money for college that you are not expected to repay.  Scholarships can be grouped into the following categories:

  • Innovation Scholars Program - The Innovation Scholars program, which provides full-tuition, three year scholarships to eligible students, was established in 2014 to celebrate the launch of the Center for Law, Entrepreneurship and Innovation.

  • Institutional Scholarships – These are scholarships that are offered by Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law and awarded to students who meet certain criteria that includes academic achievement and financial need. Available scholarships will be awarded to qualified recipients during the summer. To be considered for need-based scholarship funding, you must include parent information on the FAFSA form. Although the government considers graduate students to be independent and does not require parent information, the inclusion of this information will allow the Office of Financial Aid to better determine your financial need. In addition to including parent information on the FAFSA, you must also submit the Villanova University Charles WIdger School of Law Need-Based Financial Aid Application. Please note, if you are 30 years of age, or older, married and/or support children, you are not required to include parent information on the FAFSA.
  • Outside Scholarships – Some private companies and social organizations may offer scholarships.  Villanova Law School is not associated with these groups, but we have composed a list of opportunities that we have been informed about in order to help you in your search.

  • Student Scholars Programs – All  admitted students are automatically evaluated and re-evaluated for our Dean’s Merit’s Scholarships. In addition to our Dean’s Scholars, we offer two special scholarship programs: Public Interest Scholars and Villanova Law Student Scholars.
