Family Law Practice

If you intend to specialize in family law or plan to enter a general practice, which typically involves a significant family law component, you should take the courses listed below. They will help you develop your understanding of substantive family law, as well as areas of law which intersect with family law. In addition, these courses will help you develop skills critical to effective practice in the area. Most family law practice involves some trial work, as well as appearances before special masters and, increasingly, alternative dispute resolution. In addition, family practice involves frequent client contact, so you should take courses designed to develop your interpersonal skills.
