Biography

Professor Maza Courtney graduated with a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College and received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law. While at Villanova Law, she served as Managing Editor of Symposia for the Villanova Law Review. She was also inducted into the Order of the Coif.

Following law school, Professor Maza Courtney clerked for The Honorable Eduardo C. Robreno, on the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania, and then joined Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. While at Skadden, she represented corporations, directors, officers, and investment banks in disputes involving corporate governance matters, including hostile takeovers, mergers, tender offers, appraisal actions, books and records demands, and other corporate and commercial disputes.
