National Law Journal Ranks VLS No. 34 'Go-To' Law School

The National Law Journal (NLJ) has ranked Villanova University School of Law (VLS) as the No. 34 “go-to” law school in its 2015 rankings. This annual report identifies the top 50 law schools with the highest percentage of 2014 juris doctor (JD) graduates hired as first-year associates at the nation’s most prestigious law firms. Read more

VLS Graduates Achieve 93.92% PA Bar Exam Passage Rate

Villanova University School of Law (VLS) alumni continue to excel upon graduation. The Pennsylvania Board of Law Examiners recently reported that VLS graduates had a 93.92% first-time passage rate for the July 2014 Pennsylvania Bar Exam – the second-highest in the state and more than 11 percentage points above the state average. Read more

Michael Risch, Professor of Law at Villanova University School of Law, was quoted in the May 18 Bloomberg Business article, “Apple Gets Mixed Ruling in First Samsung Appeal.”  A noted intellectual property expert, Risch has provided frequent media commentary on the global patent battles between Apple Inc. and Samsung Group. Two Villanova Law Students Awarded 2015 Peggy Browning Fund Fellowships

Among more than 400 applicants from 150 law schools, the Peggy Browning Fund awarded Villanova University School of Law students, John D’Elia ’16 and Kristyn Jones ’16, 10-week summer fellowships for 2015. A tribute to these students’ qualifications, Peggy Browning Fellowships are given to law students who not only excel in the classroom, but who also demonstrate a commitment to workers’ rights through their educational, work, volunteer and personal experiences. Read more

A testament to Villanova’s strong legal writing curriculum, Catherine Contino ’15 earned first place in the Pennsylvania Bar Association Intellectual Property Law Section writing contest for her paper, Guilty by Resemblance? The Supreme Court Struggles to Apply the Copyright Act in the Digital Age in American Broadcasting Companies v. Aereo. Read more

Tiffani L. McDonough '06 is the Employment & Compliance Counsel for Louis Vuitton Americas. In this role, Tiffani provides employment and compliance counseling to Louis Vuitton Americas' operations, including all corporate offices and retail locations throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America, the Caribbean, and South America. Tiffani was previously a labor and employment attorney at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP where she represented employers on a national basis in all aspects of labor and employment law and served as the Editor-in-Chief and Author of the HRLegalist.

Quigley, Jr. '82 serves as the President of Curry College in Milton, MA.  Ken also serves as the immediate Past Chair of the Board of Trustees of the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC), serves  as a member of the Board of Trustees of the New England Council, Xaverian Brothers High School, Rodman Ride for Kids, Inc. and is an Honorary Director of the Cape Cod Baseball League. He is also an experienced public company director serving as an independent director on the Boards of companies listed on both the New York Stock Exchange and NASDAQ.

Cathleen Kelly Rebar '98 is a founding member, shareholder and managing partner of Stewart Bernstiel Rebar & Smith in Blue Bell, PA. In that role she focuses her attention on defending professional liability actions in PA, NJ and NY. Cathleen previously served as an Assistant District Attorney in the Delaware County District Attorney's Office in Pennsylvania and later joined the Pennsylvania Office of Attorney General as a Deputy Attorney General for the Eastern Region of Pennsylvania, where she prosecuted neglect in the long-term care sectors and healthcare fraud. Cathleen is also an elected Magisterial District Judge in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, where she currently serves portions of the western population of Montgomery County.
