The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) recently announced that Villanova University School of Law was awarded a $98,000 grant by their Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic program (LITC). The IRS awarded nearly $10 million to fund 133 organizations in 2014. This marks the sixth consecutive year that the Villanova Federal Tax Clinic received the highest grant awarded by the IRS. Lany Villalobos ’14 is the recipient of a 2014 Christine A. Brunswick Public Service Fellowship. Beginning in the fall, Villalobos will work with the Pennsylvania Farmworker Project, a division of Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA). Her fellowship project is designed to expand tax services to Spanish-speaking, low-income migrant and seasonal farmworkers in rural Pennsylvania. Read more
Villanova University School of Law has announced the naming of its deanship position in honor of Arthur J. Kania ’56. Mr. Kania, a member of the inaugural graduating class of 1956, and his wife, Angela, have been significant benefactors to the Law School throughout its history. John Y. Gotanda serves as The Arthur J. Kania Dean of the Villanova University School of Law. Read more

Anthony D. Foti '07 is a managing associate at Dentons US LLP, a top international law firm in New York City where he focuses on corporate and securities law. Prior to joining Dentons, Anthony worked at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP and Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman LLP. Throughout his career, Anthony has represented numerous Fortune 500 companies and bulge bracket investment banks, including Goldman Sachs & Co. and Bank of America. Following his graduation from Villanova Law where he was a managing editor of the Villanova Law Review, Anthony clerked for The Honorable Dennis M. Cavanaugh, United States District Court for the District of New Jersey.

Nancy Peterson '97 is Vice President, Deputy General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer for AlliedBarton Security Services, the largest national security guard firm in the U.S. She previously served as General Counsel for a nationwide candy manufacturer and licensing company and as Assistant General Counsel for ARAMARK Corporation in the Sports and Entertainment business. In 2002 she received the Forum Award from The Forum of Executive Women and was honored with a Lawyers on the Fast Track Award by The Legal Intelligencer. While at Villanova Law, Nancy received the Herman Schwartz Award.

Jeffrey E. Fleming '88 is the Vice President Compliance North America for AstraZeneca, a leading global pharmaceutical company. He is responsible for leading the AstraZeneca Compliance programs in the U.S. and Canada and serves as the U.S. Compliance Officer. After graduating from Villanova Law, Jeff completed a federal court clerkship in Wilmington, DE and was an associate at Morgan Lewis in Philadelphia. Thereafter Jeff held various roles in the Legal Department at AstraZeneca, including an international assignment in Sweden, prior to joining the Compliance Department in 2012.
