Lany Villalobos ’14 Named ABA Tax Public Service Fellow

Lany Villalobos ’14 is the recipient of a 2014 Christine A. Brunswick Public Service Fellowship. Beginning in the fall, Villalobos will work with the Pennsylvania Farmworker Project, a division of Philadelphia Legal Assistance (PLA). Her fellowship project is designed to expand tax services to Spanish-speaking, low-income migrant and seasonal farmworkers in rural Pennsylvania. Read more

 

Deanship of Villanova University School of Law Named in Honor of Arthur J. Kania ‘56

Villanova University School of Law has announced the naming of its deanship position in honor of Arthur J. Kania ’56.  Mr. Kania, a member of the inaugural graduating class of 1956, and his wife, Angela, have been significant benefactors to the Law School throughout its history. John Y. Gotanda serves as The Arthur J. Kania Dean of the Villanova University School of Law. Read more

Jill Weiner '03 is the Vice President of Compliance for Fidelity Charitable Services at Fidelity Investments, the largest mutual fund company in the United States. She is also the Chief Compliance Officer of the Fidelity Investments Charitable Gift Fund and serves as the organization's legislative expert. Prior to joining Fidelity in 2005, Jill worked for the Delaware law firm of Tybout Redfearn & Pell. While at Villanova Law, Jill was an associate in both the Farmworkers Legal Aid and Federal Income Tax Clinics, and served as an intern at the Civil Branch of the New York State Supreme Court. She also received the Faculty Recognition Award for outstanding contribution to the school.

Charles “Max” McCauley III '02 JD/MBA, '05 LLM is currently General Counsel for the Devon International Group in King of Prussia, a multinational group that partners with entities ranging from small private companies to Fortune 500 enterprises to help achieve its goals of driving affordability and access in  healthcare, information technology, manufacturing and international industries. He was previously a partner at Obermayer Rebmann Maxwell & Hippel LLP and worked at various other law firms providing litigation, bankruptcy, and transactional advice to a variety of businesses and high-net worth individuals.

Kristin Kennedy '95 is Associate General Counsel at Auxilium Pharmaceuticals. Her responsibilities include providing legal support for the teams of sales, marketing and commercial development in areas of advertising and promotion, marketing programs, strategic asset development, compliance, regulatory, corporate policies and contract negotiations. In addition, Kristin provides comprehensive legal support for the research and development organization. Prior to joining Auxilium, Kristin held the role of Division Counsel at Pfizer, Inc. and Wyeth and was an associate in the corporate department of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker, & Rhoads LLP and Pepper Hamilton LLP.
