National Law Journal Ranks Villanova No. 38 ‘Go-To’ Law School

The National Law Journal has ranked Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law as the No. 38 “go-to” law school in its 2016 rankings. This annual report identifies the top 50 law schools with the highest percentage of 2015 juris doctor (JD) graduates hired as first-year associates at the nation’s 100 largest law firms. Read more

Scarpa Center for Law and Entrepreneurship will present “Exponential Innovation: The Future of Radical Breakthroughs for the Benefit of Humanity,” a lecture by Lee Stein ’78 on October 20, 2016 from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m in the Laurence E. A Tradition Continues: Red Mass 2016

The Villanova University School of Law community will come together for its annual celebration of Red Mass on Friday, September 30, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. with University President the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, OSA, PhD, ’75 CLAS as celebrant and homilist. A Villanova tradition since 1957, Red Mass is an occasion for faculty, alumni, students and guests to celebrate the beginning of the Law School’s academic year. Read more

The David F. and Constance B. Girard-diCarlo Center for Ethics, Integrity and Compliance will host a special event featuring Jon M. Huntsman Jr.—former governor of Utah, former U.S. Ambassador to China and Singapore, and 2012 Presidential candidate—titled “Ethics, Integrity and Civility (or the lack thereof) in Politics,” on Monday, October 17. Bhaveen R. Jani '09 is an associate in the Personal Injury department at Pellettieri Rabstein & Altman in Princeton, New Jersey. He concentrates his practice in the areas of motor vehicle personal injury, construction accidents, product defect cases and premises liability claims. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate at Blank Rome LLP in the Consumer Finance Litigation group. Jani is also a very active member of the bar and currently serves as the President-Elect of the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey (SABA-NJ) and will serve as the association's President next year. SABA-NJ is a specialty bar organization whose membership includes approximately 150 South Asian New Jersey attorneys, judges and law students throughout New Jersey.

Reilly also founded and runs a nonprofit education foundation—the Foundation for Wallingford-Swarthmore Schools—which works to ensure that teachers and students continue to promote innovation, creativity and excellence, especially in difficult economic times.

United States Environmental Protection Agency

Jeffrey S. Nast ’99 serves as Senior Assistant Regional Counsel for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Working in the Hazardous Waste and Chemical Law Branch in Philadelphia, his primary duties include national historic preservation and enforcing chemical and hazardous waste statutes. Nast previously served in the Gulf war as an Armor Crewman with the First Cavalry Division. He is currently a member of the Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Illnesses, appointed by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald in December 2015 for a three year term.
