National Law Journal Ranks Villanova No. 44 ‘Go-To’ Law School

The National Law Journal has ranked Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law as the No. 44 “go-to” law school in its 2017 rankings. This annual report identifies the top 50 law schools with the highest percentage of 2016 juris doctor (JD) graduates hired as first-year associates at the nation’s 100 largest law firms. Read more

The Public Interest Fellowship Program (PIFP) of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law will host the 2017 PIFP Auction on Friday, March 31. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the event, PIFP’s largest and most successful fundraiser. Read more

Luis Canales ’17 Among National Jurist’s 2017 Students of the Year

Luis Canales ’17 has been named one of The National Jurist’s 2017 Students of the Year. Canales is one of 25 students from across the nation to receive the honor. The Law Students of the Year were nominated by their law schools and chosen by a selection committee at the magazine. Read more

 

Villanova Students Win 3rd Annual Tulane Professional Football Negotiation Competition

A team of students from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law recently competed in and won the 3rdAnnual Tulane Professional Football Negotiation Competition, sponsored by the Tulane Sports Law Society. Students Jason Kaner ’19, Eric Galko ’17 and Jack Sexton ’19 triumphed in the simulated contract negotiation, which used real-life scenarios and actual upcoming NFL free agents. Read more

Bhaveen R. Jani '09 is an associate in the Personal Injury department at Pellettieri Rabstein & Altman in Princeton, New Jersey. He concentrates his practice in the areas of motor vehicle personal injury, construction accidents, product defect cases and premises liability claims. Prior to joining the firm, he was an Associate at Blank Rome LLP in the Consumer Finance Litigation group. Jani is also a very active member of the bar and currently serves as the President-Elect of the South Asian Bar Association of New Jersey (SABA-NJ) and will serve as the association's President next year. SABA-NJ is a specialty bar organization whose membership includes approximately 150 South Asian New Jersey attorneys, judges and law students throughout New Jersey.

Frannie Reilly ’04 has extensive experience counseling clients on corporate policies, best practices and corporate governance and started her own firm in June 2014, focusing her practice on individuals, businesses and nonprofit organizations. Reilly also founded and runs a nonprofit education foundation—the Foundation for Wallingford-Swarthmore Schools—which works to ensure that teachers and students continue to promote innovation, creativity and excellence, especially in difficult economic times.

United States Environmental Protection Agency

Jeffrey S. Nast ’99 serves as Senior Assistant Regional Counsel for the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Working in the Hazardous Waste and Chemical Law Branch in Philadelphia, his primary duties include national historic preservation and enforcing chemical and hazardous waste statutes. Nast previously served in the Gulf war as an Armor Crewman with the First Cavalry Division. He is currently a member of the Research Advisory Committee on Gulf War Illnesses, appointed by Secretary of Veterans Affairs Robert McDonald in December 2015 for a three year term.
