Leaves of Absence Policy

Villanova University respects the personal obligations and unforeseen events in the lives of our faculty and staff.  In order to assist faculty and staff with their needs experienced when such events occur, the University offers a variety of leave options.  While some of the University’s leaves are mandated by Federal, as well as State law such as the Family and Medical Leave Act and workers’ compensation, others such as short and long-term disability and parental leaves are part of our on-going commitment to provide competitive benefits programs to all faculty and staff.  Please contact the Human Resources department with any questions you may have regarding any of the following leaves of absence.

Note:  The provisions of all benefits described on the Human Resources web pages are stated for summary purposes only.    The terms of the Plan Document or insurance policy govern.  The University retains the exclusive authority to construe the terms of the programs described and to determine whether a faculty/staff member is eligible for benefits under any program.  The University further reserves the right to amend or terminate any policy or benefit plan at any time with or without notice.
