Title: Law Student at the University of Colorado Law School
Areas of Expertise/Interest: Law, Nonprofit Organizations, Writing and Editing, Web Production (i.e. Web Design, Graphic Design), Animal Welfare/Rights
I graduated from Villanova in 2005 with a bachelor's degree in Political Science, minors in Spanish and Writing & Rhetoric, and a concentration in Honors. After graduating from Villanova, I began working for a nonprofit organization called One Economy Corporation. The organization--which was based out of Washington, DC--is aimed at helping low-income people enter the economic mainstream through technology. I started as an editor and writer for the organization's consumer website. Then, I was promoted to website producer and later to a director of local websites, where I managed the production of multiple websites.
After working for the organization for about five years, I decided to go to law school. I am now a third-year law student at the University of Colorado Law School in Boulder, CO. Though my exact career path is still undecided, I am hoping to someday work for another nonprofit organization, a law firm, or for a government agency that strives to help under-served populations get the legal help they need and deserve.
Throughout the past seven years, I have also been passionate about animal welfare and animal rights issues. I have volunteered at animal shelters, am active in the Colorado Law School's animal legal defense organization, and have attended a conference on animal law. I hope to incorporate animal law into my legal career someday.
