Each year several awards are given to faculty members who have distinguished themselves by their contributions to the University. The awards are:
Teaching Award - The Teaching Award allows individuals to be nominated for Outstanding Faculty Mentor Teaching Award, Faculty Award for Innovative Teaching Award, Pohlhaus-Stracciolini Award for Teaching Excellence, or the Junior Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching.
Facultas Award - The Facultas Award is presented once each year (in December) by the Faculty Congress, on behalf of the faculty as a whole. Prior to 2015 - 2016, this award was presented twice per year (one award in Fall and one award in Spring). The award should go to staff from a variety of areas to recognize t heir diverse contributions to the university community.
Villanova University was founded in 1842 by the Order of St. Augustine. To this day, Villanova’s Augustinian Catholic intellectual tradition is the cornerstone of an academic community in which students learn to think critically, act compassionately and succeed while serving others. There are more than 10,000 undergraduate, graduate and law students in the University’s six colleges.
