The Event Coordinators’ Network holds one meeting a month during the academic year. The types of meetings can vary from Brown Bag lunches to off campus visits to local resources.  We encourage you to share ideas for potential meeting topics by emailing events@villanova.edu.

Brown Bag: Parking for Events 2019

Tuesday, August 6, 2019 – 12:00pm-1:00pm
Location: O'Dea Terrace Lounge, Talley Athletic Center
Join Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police, David Tedjeske, to learn everything there is to know about parking for your events during the 2019-2020 Academic Year.  With new buildings on campus, new parking regulations and new procedures, this brown bag meeting is a MUST for all event coordinators at Villanova!  Please bring your lunch, we'll provide drinks and dessert!

Wednesday, April 3, 2019 – 12pm-1pm - Fitzgerald/O’Toole Club, Finneran Pavilion

Join the Event Coordinators’ Network to learn everything there is to know about hosting an event at the Finneran Pavilion. Guest speakers Dan Gaston, Senior Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Game Operations and Chuck Riddick, General Manager, Spectra Food Services will provide an overview of the available event spaces and catering options. Please register by March 29. Light lunch will be served.

February 2019: Brown Bag Lunch: Commencement Update & How to Get Involved

Tuesday, February 19, 2019 – 12pm-1pm – Radnor/St. David Room, Connelly Center
Hear all of the details about the Commencement 2019 schedule and how it will impact your areas. Join Chrissy Quisenberry, Director of Presidential Initiatives and Events, for a brown bag lunch meeting to ask questions and learn how to get involved throughout the weekend.

Join the Villanova Event Coordinators’ Network (ECN) for its second half-day workshop. These sessions will cover construction, catering, customization, commencement and calendar updates. The ECN workshop will also be a great networking opportunity for event planners across campus.

A Conference Center That’s All Business
When the Inn at Villanova University was renovated, the conference center was completely re-thought. The result? Bright, flexible meeting spaces and well-appointed furnishings provide the comfortable setting and state-of-the-art technology necessary for productive conferences, retreats and corporate gatherings. The Inn’s conference spaces can be configured for any purpose--from a midsize room that can seat 40 guests classroom-style to a ballroom that has a banquet capacity of 250. General Counsel and Risk Management for Your Events

Did you know that certain events may require special contracts, permits, insurance coverage, training or background checks?  Representatives from Villanova’s General Counsel’s Office and Insurance and Risk Management will provide some tips on identifying what requirements may apply and planning ahead to meet those requirements.  Topics will include event contracts, liquor licenses and liability insurance, catering permits, transportation requirements, programs for minors and more.

Campus Meeting Planning Advice and Assistance: brought to you by VU Conference Services
Do you host or are you considering hosting a conference, meeting or event on campus during the academic year or in the summer?  Conference Services hosts some 80+ organizations and about 14,000 guests annually and can provide one-stop-shop planning assistance for your program. In this session we will review the array of elements to consider in your planning as well as our experience with the variety of support services on campus.  Our specific role, when you would contact us directly for paid services, what to plan for when working with external organizations you may be sponsoring, and a preview of what’s in store with summer  facilities projects and guests in 2016 will round out the presentation.  There will be time for Q+A as well.

Brown Bag Lunch: An Update on Campus Construction and the Impact to Parking
Chris Kovolski, Assistant Vice President for Government Relations and External Affairs, will present an update on campus construction during this Brown Bag Lunch.  The current and future construction projects will have an impact on your upcoming events and meetings, but Chris will provide details, timelines and suggestions for how to plan your events to minimize disruption as much as possible.  Bring your lunch; beverages and desserts will be provided.
