Engineering is for Girls! Day brings both Girl Scouts and girls from local partner school in grades 4 - 8 to campus for a day of hands-on engineering activities each spring. Founded in 2010 by Dr. Amy Fleischer, Chair of Mechanical Engineering, this yearly activity features Mechanical Engineering faculty and students working with the girls on hands-on activities that mirror real engineering challenges. Through these activities, the girls learn about topics such as solar power, water distribution, biomedical engineering and nanomaterials. Sponsorship opportunities are available.
